      Hi geekmeg,

I only started the lab in November so I don’t have much experience with that! At the moment all my work is computer-based (analyzing data other people have produced, essentially), so I can’t offer the full pipetting-and-putting-tubes-in-a-centrifuge experience. At the same time, I want pupils who come to my lab for longer (say a week or so) to actually do something useful rather than work on some dummy problem I already know the answer to. They should get a taste of real research. So I asked the first pupil, who will come to the lab for a week in July, to learn some very basic programming skills so she’ll be able to analyze some of our data herself.

We’ll see how that works out. Fingers crossed.
